Indians have seen a lot of politics over the last few years and most of it is not healthy, to be honest. It is not only for the votes but to build a vote bank. Be it Delhi, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, or West Bengal and any other state, every political party uses the communal card.

Let us leave politics to the liberals and leftist of the country, and delve deep into the web series review of Paatal Lok. This Amazon Prime Original has won the hearts of its audiences throughout the country. Reason; power-packed performances and controversial storyline. The resemblance is so close to the real-life scenarios, that you will be reminded of the particular events distinctly.

The story starts with 4 gangsters allegedly trying to kill the Prim-Time Journalist, Mr. Sanjeev Mehra. Mr. Hathiram Chaudhary leads the case, who is a Police Inspector working with Police department for a long time.

The Police calls Sanjeev Mehra for identification where is denies to know any of them. Soon, the journalist plays a victim card and opens his prime time show with intense lines.

“People like us used to be heroes. Something about this country changed. Now we get trolled, killed, fired!”

The case is soon transferred to the CBI because the investigation facts start leaking and reaching the media houses. CBI proves it in a press conference that the attackers belong to a Pakistan intelligence agency. But, Mr. Hathiram and his assistant Mr. Ansari realize that it is not what it looks like. Therefore, they start a investigation of their own. After a little research and chase, they realize that CBI lied to the press about the case.

Hathiram and Ansari start the investigation in the right direction. The real story starts from here and the end is unexpected. We know most of you might have not seen the series, so we would keep the spoiler for ourselves.

If you enjoy a subtle take on the political scenario of India, this web series is for you. The Anushka Sharma produced web series very subtly projects the whole communalism scenario going on in the country.

We felt the whole Hindu-Muslim propaganda had no place in the series but it was forced to steer the controversy. Plus, controversies have always been a part of web series and movies in our country. And why not? Indian audience has no clue about the facts but loves to enjoy the controversial part of the country.

A web-series or a movie, shines when the performances by the actors are mind-blowing. Jaideep Ahlawat, Neeraj Kabi, and Gul Panag have given their best and the efforts are visible.

Jaideep Ahlawat has played three most critical roles, the husband, the Police, and the Father. All of them has been to the point which is really plausible.

Neeraj Kabi has played the role of a high-class, sophisticated, and arrogant journalist. The roles talk to you and you will be able to relate the people in the series really well.

Three important mentions Abhishek Banerjee (Hathoda Tyagi), Ishwak Singh (Imran Ansari), and Swastika Mukherjee (Dolly Mehra). Hathoda Tyagi is a violent, cold-blooded murderer from a small village. Dolly Mehra is Sanjeev Mehra’s wife who is going through anxiety and panic attacks when left alone for a long. Ishwak Ansari is one of the supporting actors who deserves a mention. Plus the new crush for most women out there in the industry.

Paatal Lok has a series of power-packed performances which you can’t fail to notice. All of them have done a commendable job and gets a special mention in our list.

We recommend that you watch this series without double thoughts. Watch it for performances, watch it for the commendable storyline and everything that is awesome about this story.

But we did feel the series was a little dragged since the first 4 episodes is all about chasing the 4 gangsters and the main story only starts in the third last episode when everything seems to be on the right path.

The surprise plot twist is awesome and at the end, you could relate to the title.

Do let us know in the comments what do you think about the web series review of Paatal Lok. Do you think the mob lynching made sense or go well along with the story line? We would love to hear your thoughts in our comment section.
